“One professor that I can say went above and beyond would be Lauren Smith. She is so intrigued by her students writing. She met one on one with each student to learn a little bit more about them and to discuss their writing. As students we had many open discussions to share our writing and receive feedback. She strives for you to dig deep into your personal experiences and draw upon that in your writing. This is not easy for all individuals but she created such a comfortable class room that she received meaningful, emotional-filled and eye-opening writing from each student. I learned from my classmates as well. I would like to thank her for sharing personal experiences with our class and making personal essays more approachable."
